The Sugar Professor

The California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology has a responsibility to licensed professionals that is not being met. Consistent emailing communication from California State Board of Barbering & Cosmo would be greatly appreciated by all beauty professionals. I have received one email from the board (May 5th). We have been out of work since March 15th and need the insights and guidance if the California State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology. I am a licensed esthetician who has spent hours (each week) trying to figure out if I am able to go back to work. I would like leadership from the government entity that is in place to to protect consumers - if they don't inform us they are not doing their job of protecting the public. We need to hear from them each week with updates and information.

They will not answer their phones and will not respond to emails. Currently, there is no way to contact them regarding the status of our back to work timeline.

California residents, please contact your state representative and the governor to ask when our industry can return to work. Please copy and paste this on your social media.

This mastery class will help you enhance your brow, face, and brazilian technique, covering advanced paste blending, technique, and common troubleshooting.

Master the art of sugaring to create an exceptional hair removal experience for your clients. While using an all natural sugar paste and having some experience under your belt is a great start, it is so much more than that. It is guiding your client through the entire experience from them walking in the door, to getting sugared, and into the aftercare. Find a sugar paste that keeps the ingredients simple: sugar, water, and lemon juice. Other additions to your paste may lead to reduced paste effectiveness and increases the risk of skin sensitivities or other undesirable reactions.

Do you know what you're looking for? Here's what you see in your bulbs and what this means for your clients! The three hairs indicated by the yellow arrow on the right side show the three stages of the growth cycle. The first of the three is anagen. This is the ideal hair growth, occuring at 3-4 weeks (sometimes 5). The middle is catagen. And the one on the very end on the right is telogen. Ideally you want to sugar your clients in the anagen phase. This will help lengthen the amount of time between visits by disrupting the active growth cycle.
