If you ask me what my “go to” resources are, I would definitely say my math units. We use them year round and they are packed with lesson plans (whole- and small-group), hands-on activities and centres and pictures galore! We start the year exploring simple numbers to 5/10. I love the game “Bears in a Cave” - count 5 (or 10) bears, have students close their eyes and hide some under the cup. How many bears are hiding? A fun and easy game that explores so many math concepts!

One form that goes home on the first day is our Parent/Guardian Questionnaire (inspired by ). I’ve been using this for years! We ask families to tell us a little more about their child to help us begin to plan our year - for example, if we notice many students like to play with Lego we may intentionally set out an invitation using Lego! It also lists all of the important information we need, all in one spot!

Back to school flip booklets for families are all prepped and ready to go! We hand these out at the beginning of each year. Families will find all of the most important things to know about our kindergarten program - including what to pack daily (snacks and lunch), our schedule, school info and more! I’m starting to prep a few simple things for BTS. I recently updated this Teacher Calendar and Planner for the 2023-24 school year. It’s one of my go to teacher resources! I carry it with me in my binder so I can plan ahead (field trips, PA Days, celebrations and more!). It’s editable so you can just type your name, school and room number once and it will populate all of the months! With summer coming to an end shortly, I started to think about what our first few weeks of kindergarten would look like. We spend lots of time learning names and getting to know one another.

This “All About Me” crown is a fun way to learn a little more about each of your students! Type each student’s name on the class list and it will generate a personalized crown! You can add up to 30 names at once! Students can draw/colour their answers and share with their peers. Then take them home!

Hello old friend 🤣 It’s time to start thinking about back to school! Anyone else not touch their school bag all summer (please tell me it’s not just me!)

My husband and I just got back from an extended weekend getaway to Napa, California (highly recommend BTW!). Before leaving I made a few of these tags on Canva to attach to gift cards for the flight attendants. They work so hard! I am truly thankful for everything that they do to make flying a little easier (side note: it was always my dream job when I was little to be a flight attendant! ✈️). I don’t do this for something in return…paying it forward is truly the best feeling!

Mini vacation with as our kids were part of a 2-day karting driver development program. So what did we do? We shopped, explored trails and had a lovely wine and cheese tasting! A great mid-week getaway with our friends!
