🌟 Staff Spotlight: Megan Heimbigner 🌟

For nearly 12 years, Megan Heimbigner has been helping keep teaching and learning running smoothly across NVUSD. She began her journey as a part-time IA Tech supporting students and staff at McPherson Elementary and NVLA before joining the district's Technology Department, where she has been supporting classrooms ever since.
While Megan didn't attend NVUSD schools herself, the district has become an important part of her family's story. Her husband and his family are all NVUSD graduates, and today her two sons are proudly continuing the tradition as second-generation West Park Eaglets.

For Megan, the people make all the difference. β€œIt is a group of some of the most uniquely awesome people I know, and many of them are like family,” she says of her Technology Department colleagues. That supportive culture, combined with the opportunity to help others every day, is what makes her work so meaningful.

Whether she's troubleshooting technology issues or helping teachers and students make the most of digital tools, Megan loves seeing confidence and creativity grow. As she shares, β€œI love getting to witness the light bulb moment when a teacher or student suddenly understands something or when their creativity really flourishes in a digital lesson or project.”

πŸ’™ Thank you, Megan, for your expertise, encouragement, and commitment to empowering students and staff through technology every day.

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Cori Claxton 🌟

This year, Cori Claxton celebrated 10 years with NVUSD, marking a decade of service dedicated to supporting students and families through the district's Transportation Department. What began with a job posting on Indeed has grown into a career with a team she proudly describes as an amazing place to work.

For Cori, transportation is about much more than logistics. "I love knowing that my work helps Special Education students safely access every learning opportunityβ€”from the ride to school to experiences beyond the classroom," she says. That sense of purpose guides her work every day.

What inspires Cori most is hearing from families about the impact NVUSD's transportation team has on students' lives. She especially values the relationships built with students in Special Education programs and their families. A recent conversation with a parent about how one of NVUSD's drivers helped their child reach an important milestone was a powerful reminder that the journey to and from school can make a lasting difference.

πŸ’™ Thank you, Cori, for your leadership, compassion, and commitment to ensuring every student arrives safely and feels cared for along the way.
