Luzerne County Community College was proud to host the 8th Innovation Conference on Thursday, August 13, bringing together regional leaders to explore the evolving energy landscape.

The conference featured an impactful lunch keynote with Ken O'Krepkie (Regional Manager, Ben Franklin Technology Partners of NEPA) and Adam Walters (Senior Energy Advisor, PA Department of Community and Economic Development).

In addition to keynotes, the event offered forward-thinking programming across multiple tracks:
Opening Keynote: The day kicked off with Luke Bernstein, President and CEO of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, who shared insights on Pennsylvania’s economic landscape and the critical role of energy, innovation, and workforce development in the Commonwealth’s future.
Featured Panel: "Energy as an Economic Driver in NEPA," moderated by George Stark with panelists David N. Taylor (PA Manufacturers' Association), Ryan Aument (Office of Senator David McCormick), and Dr. Jill Murray ( ).
Breakout Sessions: Deep dives into key industry challenges, including "Keeping the Lights On: Building Pennsylvania's Energy Workforce One Student at a Time" and "H**p Building Solutions as an Energy Strategy."

As a community partner for the Regional BRT transit study, Luzerne County Community College wants to share that LCTA, COLTS, and HPT are just days away from a major public meeting,and they need your input! Even if you do not currently ride the bus, your voice matters!

Their new expertise will help LCCC expand opportunities for students to prepare for high-demand technology and skilled-trade careers.
