L3C MICROCREDENTIAL ACADEMY LAUNCHES AT LCCC

Luzerne County Community College officially launched the L3C Microcredential Academy, expanding access to career-focused healthcare training throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.

The Academy brings healthcare credentials and workforce training opportunities to LCCC’s eight locations in four counties, helping students, working adults and career changers gain skills that can lead to employment, career advancement and continued education.

Programs include CNA, EMT, Phlebotomy, EKG, Clinical Medical Assistant, Medical Office Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, Medical Coding & Billing and more.
The Academy’s stackable credential model allows students to start small, enter the workforce and return for additional training as they advance their careers.

September was a month of remembering, connecting and creating new opportunities at Luzerne County Community College.

In one month, LCCC:
• Established a new Dual Admission partnership with Keystone College, creating an affordable pathway toward a bachelor's degree.
• Marked the 25th annual September 11th Remembrance Ceremony, honoring those who lost their lives and the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice.
• Expanded access to nutritious food through a new Mini Mobile Food Pantry at our Watsontown location in partnership with Central Susquehanna Opportunities.
• Connected with students and families at the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders College & Career Fair.
• Launched the L3C Building & Construction Trade Apprenticeship Readiness Academy and hosted a Skilled Trade Career Fair to connect students with education, training and career opportunities.
• Welcomed 150 students into the Nursing Class of 2028.
• Brought regional leaders together to address the growing need for skilled workers across Northeastern Pennsylvania.
• Celebrated a new College-Ready Scholarship Endowment with the Wilkes-Barre Area School District.
• Celebrated 20 years of the Schulman Gallery, bringing art, culture and community together at LCCC.

These accomplishments represent the many ways LCCC serves our students, our workforce and the communities we call home. September showed what it means to be a Trailblazer.
