Registration is OPEN for our Appalachian Backpacking CME Trip in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia!

Join us October 4–9, 2026 for a 4-day trek along one of the most iconic stretches of the 2,200-mile Appalachian Trail. We’ll cover up to 10 miles a day through rugged, rocky terrain, carrying everything we need, and camping along the way.

But this isn’t just a backpacking trip.

Each evening brings hands-on learning with lectures, workshops, and real-world wilderness medicine scenarios under the open sky.

📍 Southwest Virginia
🎒 Start: Wilderness Adventure at Eagle Landing (New Castle, VA)
🏕 Stay: AT shelters + your own tent or hammock
💧 Water sources along route (bring purification + 3L capacity)

🚑🚨Last week, Dr. Lareau and two members of the Wilderness Fellowship Program with Carilion Clinic came to provide interactive lecture and skills focused on water related emergency patient care and provider safety. Another example of BCAT EMT collaborating with the greater community! 💪🤝
