A huge shout-out to Biff Hall’s class for continuing this incredible annual Union School tradition! Whitewater rafting is more than just an exciting adventure—it’s an opportunity for students to step outside their comfort zones, face their fears, and discover just how capable they are. While some students may be nervous before taking on the rapids, they always return with a sense of pride and accomplishment after conquering the challenge. These are the kinds of experiences that create lasting memories and help build confidence that will stay with them long after they leave Union School. Yesterday, our advisory students took on the river during an incredible white water rafting Leaving to Learn adventure! From teamwork and leadership to overcoming challenges and building confidence, experiences like these are what make Big Picture learning so unique and unforgettable.
At Union, “Leaving to Learn” opportunities are a vital part of who we are. Students regularly connect classroom learning to real-world experiences through activities like visiting museums, exploring the planetarium, digging for gems in the desert, and so much more. Every trip helps students discover new passions, strengthen friendships, and create memories that last a lifetime.

It was a wonderful afternoon as the middle school leadership team, along with Kat Armstrong, Dean of Students, headed out to enjoy a few hours at Jeremy’s Arcade followed by a sweet treat from Stella’s Ice Cream. This group of students was truly an amazing team to work with throughout the year, and it was a joy spending time together celebrating all they accomplished.

Union 7th graders wrapped up their third trimester with an awesome Project Fair for their exhibition night!

After an in-depth study of local ecosystems, food webs, and natural selection of native species, students designed creative solutions for communities where humans and nature can thrive together with minimal environmental impact.

As the school year comes to a close at Union School, we can already hear the tears from our Union students knowing tomorrow is the last day. We are truly going to miss each and every one of you this summer. We went on a “Leave to Learn” trip this morning to Hulls Gulch , and it was an awesome experience. For many of these kids, it was something they had never done before in their lives. We are so blessed to be able to introduce our students to opportunities and experiences like this. And I have to say… this is one good-looking group of people!
