Growing Minds Preschool in Nampa

One of the highlights of the end of our school year was releasing our butterflies! 🦋
After watching them grow and change, the children were so excited to set them free. Many of the butterflies stopped to land on the children before flying away.

🐄🌾 Farm Week Fun at Preschool! 🐑🐔

This week we learned all about farms and how farms provide many of the things we need in our everyday lives.

During our farm centers, the kids had so much fun:
🐑 Shearing sheep and counting cotton “wool” into numbered cups
🥛 Milking the cow and exploring where milk comes from
🥚 Collecting chicken eggs filled with capital letters and matching them to their lowercase pairs

This was also a review week, so we were able to practice important early learning skills like letter recognition, counting, and fine motor skills—all through hands-on play.

So many fun activities the last few weeks 💛 Volcanoes for letter V, zig zag walking for Z, baby chicks hatching, butterfly crafts, and lots of bee games with counting and letters 🐝🦋 We also got some new caterpillar friends in our class and have been watching them grow through their life cycle—such a fun, hands-on way to learn!

🍀 March Sensory Fun! 🍀
Our little learners are loving this shamrock sensory table! Using magnetic wands, the kids find hidden shamrocks and count them into the cups to match the numbers. It’s a fun way to practice counting, number recognition, and fine motor skills all while playing.
I love creating new sensory bins each month for the kids to explore and learn through play. 💚

We had such a fun week in preschool learning about the letter F and community jobs! 🧑‍🍳👷‍♀️🧑‍⚕️🧑‍🚒
The kids put out pretend fires to find hidden letter F’s, read the fun guessing book Clothesline Clues to Jobs People Do, and played a community helper sorting game where they matched tools to different jobs.
We also talked about what everyone wants to be when they grow up and made our own community helper hats to take home. So much learning and fun this week!

We had the SWEETEST Valentine’s Week in preschool! 💕
The week was full of fun, hands-on learning with the cutest Valentine centers. We practiced writing our letters and numbers, worked on counting, and even filled our jars with the correct number of pom poms to match each number.
One of our favorite centers helped us match capital letters with their lowercase pairs. It was so fun watching those lightbulb moments when they found the right match! We also played Valentine Letter Bingo to review the letters we’ve learned so far this year — they get so excited to shout “BINGO!”
To top it all off, we read Love Monster and made the cutest little love monsters. They turned out adorable and each one had so much personality — just like our class. 🥰
