Whelp, we made it! (Forgot to post on our page, just my personal 🤦🏼♀️)
It has been 6 months of crazy, blood, sweat and tears to get our preschool ready. We still have a to do list cosmetically, but the city approved us to get started last week.
My preschool journey started in January of 2018. I was teaching in a small rural town that was 45 minutes away from my house. I wanted to find a job closer to home or open a daycare/preschool so I could be with my kids. In that search I found Joy Anderson who helps women start Preschool’s in their house. With me being a teacher that was perfect for me! I always anticipated that I would go back to public school teaching once my own kids were in school. And then my sister, Meghann Martin, opened an opportunity for me to expand my Preschool! This was a dream I had seven years ago when I learned how much I loved doing Preschool. It wasn’t in the cards then, and I almost sold the Preschool just last year. It didn’t work out, and now I know why! This is what I was supposed to do, and I am so excited to see the Preschool grows and how many families we will benefit! Crazy to think I started this school in August of 2018 with only 8 kids, and now I have a schoolhouse, 2 locations and almost 40 students and counting 🤩
Thank you to everyone to supported me throughout this journey! I couldn’t have done this without you. I had a lot of family working tirelessly to get this building up and running. A special shoutout again to my sister! She is the best project manager around and did most of the city phone calls, scheduling, paperwork, and inspections. Things out of my wheelhouse, she took over and I appreciate her love and support for me and my dreams. Thank you to my husband, Thomas Day, for believing in me and never backing down from all this has thrown our way. Cheers to a great first year at our new location 🌈
