🔥 Metallica Monday 🔥
Hunter Stephenson's journey back to the fire service is a powerful reminder that it is never too late to pursue your passion. Through CWI's Fire Service Technology program, Hunter is gaining the skills and training needed to serve his community as a firefighter.
We are grateful to All Within My Hands Foundation and the Metallica Scholars Initiative for investing in students like Hunter. Their support helps remove barriers and creates opportunities for students to prepare for meaningful careers that strengthen our communities.
A big thank you to Micron Technology, Inc. for spending the day with our students.
Through our partnership, CWI's Work-Based Learning Center was able to host Micron Day where students were able to connect with professionals, learn about opportunities at Micron, and gain insight into the many paths available to them after college.
We are grateful for your ongoing support and commitment to helping students take the next step toward their careers!
CWI alumna Jessica Crowley is not only excelling in her collision repair career but is giving back and has been recognized this year as a SkillsUSA Volunteer of the Year. Crowley now volunteers helping to run the spot repair portion of the SkillsUSA Idaho competition. It wasn't that long ago she earned silver her first year and gold her second year at the Idaho competition and went on to take third place at the 2012 SkillsUSA nationals in refinishing. Congratulations Jessica on your well deserved recognition!
College of Western Idaho will be closed Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth.

From inspiring future rodeo athletes at Youth Rodeo 101, presented by CWI, to lighting up the arena with the Snake River Stampeder Night Light Drill Team, Jessica Smith is making the most of every opportunity.
As a Registered Nursing student at CWI, Jessica balances her education with the activities she loves. During this year's Youth Rodeo 101 Clinic, she shared her story with youth from the Nampa Boys & Girls Club and introduced participants to opportunities within the rodeo community.
Now in her sixth year with the Stampeders, Jessica is preparing to perform in one of the Snake River Stampede's most recognizable traditions. Catch Jessica and the Night Light Drill Team all week at the Ford Idaho Center on CWI's Nampa Campus!
A special thank you to our partners who help create opportunities like these for our students and community: Snake River Stampede, Caldwell Night Rodeo Foundation, PRCA ProRodeo, and Texas Roadhouse. We appreciate your support in making Youth Rodeo 101 and rodeo education experiences possible.

As the first in his family to attend college, Ismael Garcia saw education as a pathway to opportunity. What he built from that opportunity has reached far beyond himself.
Through hard work, determination, and the support of his College of Western Idaho experience, Ismael launched a successful career, started his own business, and continues creating opportunities for others. His story is a powerful reminder of how education can transform lives, families, and communities.
