Last month we were able to award a previous BCAD graduate, Ava, with a scholarship that covers the remaining cost of her tuition and tools for the semester! 🎉

Ava attended Breaking Chains in April of 2024, and one month later, through hard work and dedication, she graduated. Now she is attending CWI and studying Collision Repair Technology.

We are honored to have the opportunity to keep empowering our youth, in lending support from our community as they further their education and grow towards adulthood.

Congratulations Ava! We are excited to see what this journey will look like & we can’t wait to see all the classical cars you’ll restore! 🤎🛠️

What a great way to wrap up the week! 🍿🕷️

Today, we took our students to see Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and it was the perfect opportunity to relax, have fun, and spend time together outside of the classroom.

Experiences like these are only possible because of the incredible generosity of our donors, supporters, and community. Your belief in our students and our mission allows us to create meaningful memories and provide opportunities that go far beyond academics.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for investing in our students and helping us remind them that they are valued, supported, and deserving of experiences they’ll never forget. ❤️

Yesterday, our students and graduates spent the evening styling hair, doing gel manicures, and going to a flower farm! 💐

Thank you to the generous human who anonymously gifted us boxes of tools and irons to make this meaningful day possible. We had so much fun spending quality time together and learning new skills through girlhood. 🩷

Today I had the incredible honor of witnessing one of our Breaking Chains Academy graduates, Chato Maestas, as he was officially sworn into the United States Navy.

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do. Watching Chato grow from a young person with dreams and challenges into a responsible, determined young man ready to serve our country is something that fills us with immense pride.

Chato, thank you for allowing me to be part of such a special day. We are incredibly proud of the young adult you have become and the man you continue to grow into. Your Breaking Chains family will always be cheering you on.

Last week, our students gathered at the Lower Recreational Dam at the Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge for our quarterly Youth Advisory Group! ⭐️

Our group divided and conquered, enjoying all that the lower dam had to offer. We fished with waders, ventured for birds, and enjoyed the refuge’s nature through art activities!
🎣💚

Through our continued partnership with the Friends of Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge, we hope to educate and inspire the next generation of conservation leaders. These opportunities allow us to expand our youth’s knowledge of what’s possible in their futures. A huge thank you to the team for hosting our group for this fun-filled afternoon!

Over the past four years, we’ve had the privilege of partnering with Jeannette Leroy and the Nampa Public Library to bring the joy of reading and learning directly to our students. 💚📚

Every two weeks, Jeannette would bring the Bookmobile to Breaking Chains, giving our students access to library books, digital resources, and all the incredible opportunities the library has to offer. Beyond the Bookmobile, she has also led countless workshops that have inspired, educated, and encouraged our students throughout the years.

Jeannette, thank you for your unwavering support, kindness, and dedication to the young people in our community. Your impact reaches far beyond books. You’ve helped open doors to new ideas, new opportunities, and a lifelong love of learning.

As you begin this exciting new chapter in your career, we are so excited for all that lies ahead. While we’ll still look forward to welcoming the Bookmobile every other week, we’ll certainly miss seeing you. We know you’ll continue making a difference wherever you go.

Thank you for everything, Jeannette. We wish you nothing but the very best in your new role! 💚📖
