Tragedy in Martial Arts: Young Karate Champion Sasan Azadvar Executed

IRAN – The martial arts world is in mourning following the ex*****on of Sasan Azadvar, a 21-year-old Kyokushin Karate champion. Azadvar was executed by Iranian authorities on May 1, 2026, after being convicted of "Moharebeh" (enmity against God) related to his alleged involvement in nationwide protests.

International human rights organizations have condemned the move, citing a lack of fair trial and due process. Despite global pleas from the sports community, the sentence was carried out, sparking outrage across the globe. Azadvar is remembered by his peers not only as a talented fighter but also as a symbol of the ongoing struggle for freedom.
