3rd grade took our weather learning to the next level with a live virtual field trip, Weather Wow! Hurricane Trackers, with the UCAR Center for Science Education!

Each student had a role in their group as a Forecast Manager, Storm Surge Specialist, Hurricane Specialist, or Emergency Manager. Working as a team, students tracked a hurricane based on the real path of Hurricane Laura and made decisions along the way about what information the public needed to stay safe.

It was such an interactive way to bring together everything we have been learning about weather, severe storms, forecasting, and how science helps communities prepare for weather hazards.

Patriot and Owyhee families! You are invited to join us for Walk to School Day! This is a good way to make new friends in your neighborhood, exercise, and enjoy good weather! Please look at the attached meeting spots and choose the one closest to you. Each spot will have Owyhee and Patriot teachers. They will lead students safely on their walk to school. We will even have officers from the Nampa Police Department (NPD) with us. Even if your child does not normally walk to school, we hope you plan to join us for this one day. Your whole family can join the walk, or just the student. When we arrive at the school, we will have a playground dance party. Then we will start our day of learning. If you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher or our main office. See you on Tuesday!

Last week, 4th graders had a wonderful learning experience with guest teacher Mrs. Davis from the Owyhee Gems and Minerals Society.
Students learned how rocks are used in everyday life, examined specimens with magnifying lenses, and cracked open their own geodes, generously gifted by Mrs. Henry.
It was a hands-on lesson they won't soon forget!

This award recognizes students who demonstrate what it means to Discover, Create, and Lead. They show curiosity as they learn, think creatively as they solve problems, and lead through their choices and actions.

It’s IT professional Appreciation Day, and we are so thankful for our amazing IT team!

A special thank you to Josh for getting our teacher microphones installed today so our students can hear us clearly throughout the classroom. It’s one of those behind-the-scenes things that makes such a difference for teaching and learning!

We had our first Patriot Assembly of the year! We brought the whole school together for a fun-filled celebration of school spirit, community, and learning.

We even got hands-on with an exciting science experiment that had everyone cheering!

It was a great reminder that there’s something special about coming together as one school community. We’re already looking forward to the next one!
