The cure for imposter syndrome
When I came out of school, I was excited. I wanted so much to help other people learn about how to navigate family life. I was filled with information and knowledge, and I was ready to plunge into coaching and change the world of families. So, I did exactly that! I left my day job and started to help people. …...

The best marriages have complaints and conflicts - do you understand the difference? Why does it matter? There are certainly times where men and women see things very differently - and they can become like a festering sliver in your hand. What if there was a better way to communicate about issues your are conflicted about without making it personal? Let’s dive in.
This weekend I listened to a devotional where the speaker stated that joy does not come in large doses, it comes by teaspoons. And I have found that to be a profound truth. I think I look for joy to be abundant - large dosed - but the best joy comes in the work of small acts - “teaspoon” size! In my neighborhood, we have a brood of turkeys. They will eat in the farm fields near by and in all of the yards as well. They are interesting to watch. Tom Turkeys tend to be defenders - always fluffed up and ever watching the Hen Turkeys. In fact, a few mornings ago I watched the male turkeys go head to head with a black truck! They peck and slide when they feel they are being attacked.
So what did I learn about joy in watching them this morning? That nature sometimes presents itself to us to foster just that! Whether it is the colors of flowers, leaves on the trees, or interesting wildlife that requires us to slow down and spend time watching, learning, listening and seeing. This morning, I feel joyful in the nature around me. That “teaspoon” started my day and I am sure it will fill me for some time. Tell me if you have had a dose of joy today!

It is interesting to me that at the beginning of each year we set some of the grandest of targets(goals) to aim for. Within three weeks, they feel huge, maybe are not aligning really with what you actually heading to do and those resolutions fall by the way side. What if you could learn to do it in micro-bites? What if it was small change that actually takes you to those large targets - learning, growing and changing all along the way.
Everything we do matters…our successes, our failures, our practicing - it all matters. Maybe more targeted processes need to be put in place, maybe we need to connect to it emotionally and have valid reasons for doing it, and maybe a good sounding goal needs to be flexible.
This year, if you are fed up with goals and resolution - maybe it is not that they are good, valid or needed - but perhaps they are not attainable in the form you have planned. What you do makes a difference - start small, get really honest, and see if what you are resolving to do will make a difference in your life!

Busy – is anyone else at this time of year?
I realized that it has been a bit since I have written a post! I have had my days and evenings taken up with many things - there are times I wish there were more hours in the day and other times, I wish it was more compressed! This month has been a month of cultivating one of my loves in life - music....

We have officially moved into the transition to autumn from summer. This is my favorite season for many reasons. I am a gardener - so I get to harvest what I grow. The earth slows down its growth process, and makes way for winter to come. I learn so much from nature. I am always glad to have visuals to see things that I can incorporate into my own life changes....

Have you ever gone outside and noticed that the sky changes just before a new season starts? The sky in the fall actually changes to a deeper blue as the sun lowers its angle and the air becomes drier. The change is not extreme; it is a gradual shift. These changes are not really detectable unless you are seeking them out....
