in 1916, the Episcopal Church in Nags Head, now known as Saint Andrew's by the Sea, was consecrated by the Right Reverend Thomas C. Darst.
The congregation built its first Chapel, called All Saints', in 1849. During the Civil War, the building was torn down, perhaps for the materials to be used by the troops under General Burnside.
The chapel photographed was built by Mr. S.J. Twine, and was moved to its current location on Virginia Dare Trail in 1937.
