🏫THREE DAYS IN. ONE CLEAR STANDARD.

As we wrap up our first three days of school at Nacogdoches High School, I want to share a few things with our families, community partners, and everyone who believes in our Dragons.

We are off to a strong start.

We are seeing teachers building relationships. We are seeing students finding their rhythm. We are seeing our administrative team and faculty working together with purpose. And we are seeing the beginning of the culture we intend to build all year long.

But let me be clear: **we are not measuring success by how good the first three days feel. We are measuring it by what our students accomplish throughout the year.**

Our focus is intentional:

📈 STUDENT GROWTH — Every student moving forward.

🎓 ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT — High expectations paired with the support students need to reach them.

🤝 ENGAGEMENT — Students connected to their school, their teachers, and their future.

🚀 READINESS — Preparing every Dragon for the opportunities waiting beyond high school.

And none of this happens because of one person.

It happens because great teachers, committed administrators, supportive families, and invested community partners choose to work together for kids.

I am proud of the team leading Nacogdoches High School, and I am even more excited about what we are building together.

To our parents: thank you for trusting us with your children.

To our community partners: thank you for investing in our students and believing in our school.

To our faculty and staff: thank you for showing up every day with purpose.

And to our Dragons: your future is worth the work. Keep showing up. Keep growing. Keep moving forward.

We don't just talk about outcomes. We measure them, move them, and celebrate them.

Three days down.
A year of opportunity ahead.

Be Legendary. Be Present. Be Prepared. Be Productive.

GO DRAGONS! 🐲

Happy Day Before School Starts!

As a reminder, all students will pick up a new schedule that will be printed on colored paper in their first period class tomorrow!

There is no need to bring the ones you have picked up this week, as teachers will be looking for ones on colored paper.

When students get to school in the morning they will need to go to their assigned commons (9th graders in 9th grade building, 10-12 grade in main building) to find their names on the lists posted on the wall that will tell them where to report.

THANK YOU!

We can't wait to see them!

Painting will be allowed weekdays after 5pm and weekends all day.

Reminder of Rules and Guidelines:
Students will be required to secure reservation and design approval prior to applying artwork.

The design proposal must be approved by Mrs. Lister. Variation from the approved design will warrant surrender of the reserved space for the remainder of the term and forfeiture of the fee, meaning NO refunds. A copy of the design proposal will be kept on file in the 11th grade office.

We encourage students to express themselves through the artwork in their design. We also ask that the student’s name be included somewhere in their design. Inappropriate words, symbols, or pictures will obviously be prohibited.

Students will be required to provide their own exterior latex paints to be applied with brush, roller, or sponge. NO SPRAY PAINTS OR SPRAYER DEVICES ALLOWED. It is important to note that students may not paint anywhere outside of the designated space and must leave an 8 inch space between their design and the white parking lines.

Again, failure to follow any of the above rules will automatically forfeit your painting privileges and apid fees.
Parking spaces will not carry over from one school year to the next. You must reserve a spot each year.

Reserving and painting parking spaces is a privilege, not a right.
Painting outside the allotted parking space, including on the curb, in front of the space, or over the lines may result in a fine or loss of the parking space.

If you have questions, contact the 11th grade office.

You must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and be cleared of all parking fines when you arrive to sign-up for a parking spot. You will not be allowed to pick out a spot without these documents.

Pre-registration is available here: https://forms.gle/2WxghFkD5vvtKiJbA

It is highly recommended that you pre-register so the sign-up process can go smoother.

We can only accept CASH or MONEY ORDERS. No personal checks will be accepted.
