We’re thrilled to announce that Rachel Barton Pine, Violinist will be joining us as one of our Guest Artists for the 2019 Chloé Trevor Music Academy! Rachel tours as a soloist with the world’s top orchestras and has an extensive recording career with over 30 albums to date. She also runs the Rachel Barton Pine Foundation which promotes the study and appreciation of classical music, including string music by black composers. The foundation loans high-quality instruments to deserving young musicians and provides grants to cover incidental expenses of students and young professional musicians.
Her musical interests extend from baroque and classical to Celtic, rock, and jazz. She has met and played with a number of heavy metal bands such as AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Metallica, and Led Zeppelin. She performs on a 6-string Viper electric violin with the thrash/doom metal band Earthen Grave, and credits her experience playing in a rock band with improving her emotional rapport with her audiences.
Rachel will be giving a recital, masterclass, and workshop at the Chloé Trevor Music Academy, and we absolutely cannot wait for our students to witness all of the valuable information and musical expertise she has to offer!

The Chloé Trevor Music Academy will return to Stephen F. Austin State University this summer from July 28th to August 10th, 2019!! Apply today!
