Dive into the world of wildlife with us!🌿🐍 We look forward to seeing you!

Our goal as a student organization is to build friendships between students while also providing opportunities to make important contacts with wildlife professionals. Meetings are geared toward fostering these relationships and providing students with a chance to be involved in a variety of activities.

Our next internship spotlight goes to our President, Katelyn Anderson 🌲🌱
“This summer I participated in an internship with the Texas A&M Forest Service. I was stationed out of the Hudson office near Lufkin, Texas, and I got to experience so many different things!
Many of our days were spent cruising timber on all the state forests so we could update each of the management plans. I also got an inside look at the many different departments of the agency. From public education to RCW habitat management, I got to do it all.”
We love seeing our members do such amazing things!

Our first summer internship spotlight is from our very own Vice President, Clare Shaugnessy! 🦇🌱🏙️
Clare’s internship is with the Austin Bat Refuge! They take in many bat species from all over the state, caring for injured and orphaned bats until they pass their flight test and are able to be released. It’s currently pup season (the bats all give birth in early summer) so as an intern her job is to help the bat moms at the refuge take care of their pups and to help feed and care for the orphan pups that people bring in.
We are so proud to see our members and officers take their place in the workplace! TWS makes great wildlife rehabbers!!!
