Testing season is upon us! April 18th kicks off the testing season at McMichael. Make sure your students are well rested.

Mr. Schmidt’s 8th grade algebra students toured the Ed & Gwen Cole STEM Building at SFA today. The students were able to see the labs in action, enjoy the planetarium, and learn information about the STEM Academy program through SFA for high school as well as the many scholarships that this opportunity can offer.

High school, decisions, & careers, oh my! McMichael 8th graders are getting a closer look into the Career & Technical Education programs at Nacogdoches High School. Today 8th grade students attended a career exploration event at SFA presented by the Gateway to Your Future program. This program allowed students to experience different career pathways and explore options for their futures.

Here is some important information for our 8th grade students about High School Registration. The time is near!

The NISD social workers would like to extend the warmest of thank you's to the McMichael Middle School PTO for adopting 5 families from McMichael to sponsor for Christmas gifts. These 5 families also had children at other campuses in our district. The PTO provided gifts for a total of 12 kids! Thank you all so much for helping us spread the holiday cheer to these sweet kiddos and their families!

This week, 6th grade learned about managing emotions and healthy coping skills. We wrote letters of gratitude and discussed how acts of kindness uplift ourselves and others.

This week 8th graders are learning about cell phone and social media safety in their science classrooms. Students are diving in to learn the positive and negative impacts of the web and social media.
