𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝘁, 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀

Archetypes find expression in all aspects of life and represent what Marie-Louise von Franz called "Natures Constants." Understanding their language that belongs to the realm Carl Jung termed "The Spirit of the Depths" requires both a deep regard for the psyche and a disciplined skill in working with eternal images and unique symbolism. This deep passion historically drove such pioneers as Jung, von Franz, Barbara Hannah, Aniela Jaffé, Emma Jung, James Hillman, and Marion Woodman to dedicate their lives to studying archetypal symbolism.

For nearly 40 years, The Assisi Institute has preserved this ancient tradition, which now guides students from more than 50 different countries. The Institute is hosting a complimentary program where graduates will present their work on archetypal patterns as they are welcomed into The International Society of Archetypal Pattern Analysts.

Most conflicts don’t start where we think they do.

They begin when archetypal patterns move through us unconsciously;
when we mistake collective forces for personal intention,
when we act out myths instead of understanding them.

The psyche doesn’t invent chaos at random.
It repeats ancient patterns until they’re recognized.

What we fail to name on the inside gets enacted on the outside:
in relationships, in institutions, in entire societies.

Awareness doesn’t make us passive.
It makes us responsible.

Because once you recognize the pattern,
you’re no longer possessed by it.
