The Music Studio Music Lessons

🎸 He’s toured North America. He’s played Newport Folk Festival. Now, he’s ready to help YOU find your sound!

It’s Faculty Friday, and we’re welcoming Mr. Thomas Bora to The Music Studio teaching team! 👏🎶

He’s all things GUITAR—from jazz grooves and rock riffs to your favorite pop songs!

A UConn graduate who studied jazz, Mr. Tom brings an exciting mix of experience to our classrooms. He’s toured with his band Boyscott, performed in Connecticut musical theater productions, and leads Soul Factory, his wedding and event band.

But his favorite kind of progress? Helping students build confidence, explore their creativity, and discover their own musical voice. His teaching combines strong fundamentals with collaboration, personal discovery, and plenty of FUN! 🙌

Ready to turn “I wish I could play guitar” into “Listen to what I learned”? Let’s get started!

📲 Message us or call 860-389-2589 to ask about guitar lessons.

Help us give Mr. Tom a warm Music Studio welcome! 🎸💙

🐉 How to Train Your Dragon? Epic.
How to Train Your Little Brother? LEGENDARY. 🎹🔥

When Mom signed both boys up for music lessons, she probably didn’t expect a dragon adventure in her living room! 🐲✨

Oliver, 12, took the lead and taught his little brother Asher, 7, the primo part of this “How to Train Your Dragon” duet—and Mom sent us this gem! 💙

Big brother becomes the teacher. Little brother becomes his wingman. And together? Their music takes FLIGHT! 🚀🎶

THIS is when music lessons become more than lessons—two brothers learning, laughing, and creating something together. Having both kiddos in lessons really does pay off! 🙌

🎹 Music Studio Trained!!
💚 Mother Approved!!
🐉 Brother-powered. Ready for takeoff.

Sound ON 🔊 Give these dragon trainers a round of applause! 👏👏

They all have keys—but they’re not all built for learning… 👀

Shopping for a keyboard for your child? Those smaller keyboards may look like a great starting point, but having all 88 keys is just one of the features to look for!

In Tuesday Teacher Tips • Part 2, we’ll show you what matters when choosing a practice instrument that supports your child’s progress and makes playing more enjoyable. 🎶

🎶 Tuesday Teacher Tips | Part 1: The Right Instrument Matters!

Could your child’s practice instrument be making learning harder? 🎹🎸

A toy instrument or equipment that doesn’t work properly can make even simple skills difficult to practice. When students work hard but struggle to produce a good sound, frustration can take the place of excitement—and progress and confidence can suffer.

A reliable, appropriately sized instrument gives students the chance to hear their improvement, enjoy practicing, and grow their love of music. 💛 And it doesn’t have to be the most expensive option!

👉 Next Tuesday, I’ll show you what to look for when choosing a good practice instrument for home. Follow along for Part 2!

🎶 Ending the week on a high note!

A tricky passage finally clicks. A voice grows stronger. A student discovers, “I can do this!”

Those moments are why we love what we do. ❤️

At The Music Studio, we help students build skills, find their confidence, and enjoy making music—with teachers who encourage them every step of the way.

What’s your musical win this week? Big or small, we’d love to hear it! 👇
