THERE IS STILL COMPASSIONATE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD !!
It’s been a long time since I’ve made a post on what I’m working on in my business. I’ve been doing this type work full time since March of 2020. I’ve worked for some great people. I don’t recall working with anyone that’s been hard to work for. I’ve definitely been blessed. Sometimes life circumstances cause me to fall behind in my work which causes me to be in someone’s space longer than was intended. One example is at the beginning of last year. I had a kitchen torn out for a family in Tupelo. The kitchen was a complete gut-job. It took over four months to complete which should have been a 4 to 6 week job. During this time, my mother, who had severe dementia, started rapidly declining and I had to be with her which kept me from working in the kitchen. The family was very gracious to me. They never complained about it at all. This family left a lasting impression on me. I think about it quite often. This brings me to the job I am working on now. I’m on a huge bathroom remodel and a back porch enclosure in Myrtle. It’s a typical 6 week job. After the bathroom was completely torn out and I had started framing in the back porch, I tore my bicep and messed up my shoulder. The tear caused me to be off work and, when I did return, my arm was definitely weaker which slowed my pace. (I am much better now. Thank goodness.) Not knowing I would still be on this job, church camp, catering a wedding rehearsal dinner, etc, were on my calendar, too. Needless to say, the schedule was shot. This couple has given me the liberty to take off as planned and as needed. They have called to check on me and constantly ease my mind as I continuously apologize for still being in their home. To this family, the well-being of people matter more than their own inconvenience. Their attitude and kindness has impressed me and it has also changed me. I want to be that person. Help me, God, to be this compassionate toward others.
