💚💛 What an Incredible First Year! 💛💚

As we close out the 2025-2026 school year, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Pine Island Elementary community for an amazing inaugural year as a PTO.

Less than a year ago, we formed our organization, wrote bylaws, elected officers, and became an officially recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Thanks to the support of our Pelican families, dedicated volunteers, school staff, and generous community partners, we accomplished more than we ever imagined possible in our first year.

Together, we:
🍎 Treated teachers and staff to an Apple Bar, Cookies & Cocoa Bar, and Pizza PIE Day
📚 Supported the Fall Book Fair with volunteer assistance
🌎 Decorated trees for the Holidays Around the World event
🏃 Hosted our first-ever Apex Glow Run, where families generously contributed funds to support our school
🎨🎵🌿 Provided funding and supplies to support the Art, Music, and Outdoor Inquiry programs
📦 Provided volunteers for the SC Council on Competitiveness Supply Chain Game
💌 Held Sham Grams and loved reading the many thoughtful messages shared between students, families, and teachers—a wonderful reminder of the kindness, encouragement, and sense of community that make Pine Island special
🎉 Celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week
🎈 Sponsored inflatables and games for Field Day
🎓 Sponsored the 5th Grade Dance and End-of-Year Celebration
🍦 Provided ice cream for our graduating 5th graders
💚 Helped establish traditions that will continue for years to come

As an organization that is less than a year old, this support means so much to us. We are incredibly grateful for this investment in our school community and excited to use these funds to support even more activities and opportunities that benefit our students next school year.

🌈🍎 We wrapped up Teacher Appreciation Week with another colorful celebration for our amazing Pine Island teachers and staff! 🍎🌈

Yesterday’s lunch included sandwiches and wraps, along with salads, fresh fruit, and desserts to help keep everyone fueled through the week. A very special thank you to the Carolina Forest Walmart for generously sponsoring the delicious salads, fruit, and desserts — everyone is still talking about those brownies!

Our teachers and staff are truly the “pot of gold” at the end of the rainbow here at Pine Island! 🌈💛 Thank you for making our school such a special place for students and families.

🌈🍎 Teacher Appreciation Week continues at Pine Island! 🍎🌈

Yesterday, our teachers and staff stopped by for rainbow-themed snacks and drinks featuring every color of the rainbow! 🌈✨

They also had the chance to play our Rainbow Punch Cup Game for a chance to win gift cards — and 10 lucky winners went home with prizes to Starbucks, Target, and Amazon! 🎉☕🎯📦

We’re so grateful for the incredible teachers and staff who bring so much color, joy, and care to our school each day. 💚💛
