In this event Respiratory Care Students showed new Nursing students what they might encounter at clinical assignments such as suctioning, CPR, CPAP, and Vent Settings. Students teaching other students helps them to be more comfortable in the clinical setting and promotes teamwork! Thank you to all the participants including some of our previous year RT graduates!

This week the Respiratory Care Students Class of 2027 have been busy participating in several interprofessional education events. This one was with the new Radiology students at HGTC where RT students showed RAD students what they might encounter at clinical assignments so they can properly apply oxygen to patients. This promotes information sharing and teamwork among the many medical disciplines which is important for successful outcomes!

A BSRT Needs Assessment Study Group is conducting a statewide evaluation to determine the workforce, educational, and professional development needs of respiratory therapists and employers across our state.

This information is essential to determine the needs of a BSRT program when seeking accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).

Thank you for contributing to this important statewide initiative and for supporting the advancement of respiratory care in South Carolina.

Participation is voluntary, and all responses will be reported in aggregate form.
