Abi made an 85 on her first college exam: Foundations of Stress Management.
Today, she took her Earth Science exam and made a 100!!
We're very proud of her and hopeful that she'll be more confident and will start knocking these classes out more quickly.

I realize that I haven't posted here in a loooong time. Abi started her freshman year at the public high school this past August. Within 2 months, she was already begging to go back to homeschool.
I was going to pull her out at the end of the first semester, but I changed my mind when we decided to use the smarterby1degree program to earn high school and college credits at the same time.
We've had a slow and rocky start, due to distractions, but Abi is about to take her 2 and 3 college exams. I'm hoping that we pick up steam as she gets more comfortable with the program and warmer weather gets her out moving more.
We're off to a great start this year! Today marks the end of the 1st quarter for the fall semester.
For Math, we've been doing a review of Arithmetic so far to make sure we have a solid foundation before moving on. We're sticking to traditional grade-level studies for all core classes, and we're starting on Spanish today.
Today was Abi's 1st day of this school year. Yes, it's early, but we'll be covering 7th and 8th grade material this year.
Chloe loves her K12 classes but needs to get out of the house more. With my current work schedule, she will likely be at the middle school next year. We may be transferring Abigail soon because her school doesn't seem to be a good fit for her.
We have decided to give K12 a chance for Chloe this year. Abigail will be attending the elementary school we are zoned for here. I'm hoping for a great year for both of my girls this year.
I have put in transfer requests in the hopes that Chloe and Abigail can attend Fort Riley Elementary next year. That's the only school that I am willing to put them into. If the transfer does not go through, I will be homeschooling again next year.
In the meantime, I gave Chloe a list of final assignments last week. She has been very slow with her work ever since. The list includes a writing assignment, research about a fruit/veggie of her choice, a math assessment, and completion of her Geography work. Her summer will begin as soon as she completes her list. She is working on a final Math assessment today to review what we have worked on these past few months. She is not a happy camper.
Here's to hoping that our summer can begin soon. The girls are already registered for a summer reading program as well as a math program that they can use to earn rewards.
We have had some busy days lately and some days when we got little to nothing accomplished. Overall, we have learned a lot these past few months. Chloe is pretty much finished with her English, Reading Comp, and Math. We had to back up and review quite a bit of material for Math and English. She is almost finished with her Writing. She has started writing pen pal letters, partly as fun and partly as writing practice. Today we are putting full focus onto US Geography. She has also been working on Art, Science, Spanish, and other independent studies.
We are currently working on our plans for next year. Abigail will be starting Kindergarten next year. Outside of her 3 months at JC Naz Preschool, she has also been working on ABC Mouse, Disney Jr, a Kindergarten workbook, learning to read, and other resources.
Chloe, Abigail, and I are finally getting settled back in after a long stay in NC. We are getting our schooling routine al worked out and joining in with other homeschool families. Chloe is mostly reviewing material to find a suitable starting point. Abigail has been working on both pre-k and Kindergarten material, and like always, she doesn't always want to follow the rules, but she knows the right answers.
