Grace-Full Crossings

Grace-Full Crossings

Compassionate and gentle end of life midwifery services Gentle, loving, compassionate, dignified, non-denominational midwife and guide.

My first priority is being of service to the one dying, by creating sacred space and a safe sanctuary. I help create a bridge for transition through the use of music, touch, and essential oils, and many more ways. It is for those people who wish to experience a different way of passing through the veil, a way that is more sacred, conscious and dignified. I also teach people how they can create sacred spaces themselves to care for their loved ones.

The dead are not distant or absent. They are alongside us. When we lose someone to death, we lose their physical image and presence, they slip out of visible form into invisible presence. This alteration of form is the reason we cannot see the dead. But because we cannot see them does not mean that they are not there. Transfigured into eternal form, the dead cannot reverse the journey and even for one second re-enter their old form to linger with us a while. Though they cannot reappear, they continue to be near us and part of the healing of grief is the refinement of our hearts whereby we come to sense their loving nearness. When we ourselves enter the eternal world and come to see our lives on earth in full view, we may be surprised at the immense assistance and support with which our departed loved ones have accompanied every moment of our lives. In their new, transfigured presence their compassion, understanding and love take on a divine depth, enabling them to become secret angels guiding and sheltering the unfolding of our destiny.

You shall not find me
while trying to make sense
of this world,

nor at times
when you are fearful,
for it is difficult for my light
to enter the world
of thought.

Stop. Come rest a while
in the shadows with me,
I shall wait for you by the
garden gate,

where silence shall be
our voice,
and all that is unspoken
shall be carried
by the wind
to ignite a flame
in your heart.

Time, space, dreams…
are dimensions of your soul,
dimensions of love from which
new life is born.

There is infinite space
within every atom
of you,

…. infinite and eternal light.

Forever you are blessed
by an innate love
that can never be lost,

and so it is
that you cannot lose me….
….nor I, lose you.

What is biologically happening during the actively dying phase (last phase of life). Understanding this can bring comfort and understanding and help decrease fear. 07/11/2023

These are all things that we discuss when I teach classes on Creating Sacred Space for the Dying. As a death doula, I have shared with many families not to be worried about moaning and breathing sounds their loved one is making during the actively dying phase. The body naturally is making sounds as it’s shutting down. One woman called me as her mother was crossing over and I was sharing with her what to expect and I mentioned the moaning but she hadn’t started that…within a couple minutes the moaning began. I helped this same friends father cross over prior to her mother. Her mom was so impressed with how I helped them and her husband have a peaceful death, she said she wanted my help when it was her time…and I gladly helped her too. It is getting close to offering another class, and I will do that in the fall.

LIFE WITH GHOSTS - documentary film (trailer) 07/10/2023

This looks interesting and helpful. You may register for the showing that will take place July 14-17. I did, and I am very much looking forward to watching. As a death doula, this is second nature to the way that I help, because I use my gift of mediumship to es**rt the souls of the dying as they cross over. I don't know how I do that, but I have done it enough times for friends and family that I know its real. I am shown things that are verified by family members, when I have no way of "knowing" such things. So its a bit of a different aspect of being a death doula...I am there to help the one dying, and can contact them in whatever realm they are residing in before physical death...sometimes unconscious...and relay messages to the family. If this movie subject interests you, please sign up for the showing. Thank you to Kira for the recommendation!

There’s a part of the grieving process,
where your soul kind of leaves your body too.
As though it’s off searching for the one you lost,
somewhere in the ether.

You walk around,
doing all the right things,
putting one foot in front of the other,
but it’s really as though you’re the ghost.

Perhaps you are.
Perhaps your soul searches,
until you find the one you miss,
and they tell you to go back and live.

So, when that numbness passes brave one,
maybe it’s time to do what you are told,
go back and live,
twice as hard.

You don’t belong there in the ether,
nor do you need to search for the one you lost,
they find you.
And when they do, you’ll feel it.

Birth and death
are only doors through
which we pass,

sacred thresholds
on our journey.

Birth and death
are a game
of hide- and seek.

So laugh with me,
hold my hand,
let us say good-bye,
say good-bye,
to meet again soon.

We meet today.

We will meet again tomorrow.

We will meet at the source
every moment.

We meet each other
in all forms
of life.

When someone has gone,
you can bring them back, for just a little while,
by talking them into life.
By painting a picture with your memories and your words, breathing their essence back into existence, for just a few moments.

When someone has gone,
you can see them again, for a minute or two,
by being all the things they once were.
By allowing their best traits to filter through you,
shaping your words, your thoughts and your deeds, back out into this world.

When someone has gone,
you can feel them again, for just a moment,
by playing their music and singing their favourite songs. By giving yourself up to the notes that brought them alive once upon a time, it will again.

When someone has gone,
you can keep a part of them alive,
by giving the love you had for them a forever place in your life, a forever seat at your table and a glorious chapter in your book.

Stories never die, and boy did they make stories.

Tell them.

When my heart no longer beats
cast me into the ocean, my love

throw my ash atop the water
and watch in reverence
as the moon commands her waves
to embrace every spec of my dust
and wash me into the vast heart
of this magical planet
I was lucky enough to roam

and when you miss me most
come to the sea, my love

come to the sea
and let Mother Nature remind you
we are all entirely connected
that we may walk this earth
for so many years
but we are part of its bones

and as you stand at the water
I will rise up with all my spirit
and breathe life back
into your weary heart

when my heart no longer beats
take me to the sea, my love
take me home.

Absolutely! As a death doula, this is something I teach in classes to create sacred space for the dying.

Those working with the dying will tell you to talk to them, even if they are not conscious. This is in part, because hearing is the last of the senses to remain, and it is believed that they can still hear you.
