Please help get the word out about this scholarship opportunity!
βββ
There is a special event coming up during Hispanic Heritage Month. It is the 21st annual celebration of FIESTA Birmingham, a family-friendly festival celebrating Hispanic art and culture. There are activities for all ages. This year it is being held on September 30, 2023, at Linn Park in Birmingham.
One of the main goals of FIESTA is to provide scholarships to Hispanic students who are looking to continue their education after high school. Last year FIESTA awarded close to $20,000 in the Fiesta Scholars program.
This scholarship opportunity is open to high school seniors graduating this academic year, and undergraduate, as well as postgraduate students. The students can be attending a technical school, junior college, four-year university, or graduate school.
The application process is relatively simple, a google form and a short video. In the comments is the link to the Fiesta Scholars scholarship page. The window for submissions is from August 5 - September 5, 2023. The Fiesta Scholars will be announced on September 18 and will be formally recognized during an awards presentation at FIESTA on September 30 in Birmingham.

IALLT Survey
If you work (or have worked) in a language center or lab in ANY role, we invite you to take a few minutes to fill out the IALLT Survey 2019. You don't need to be an IALLT member.
IALLT relies on surveys to obtain accurate information about the state of language technology and language centers/labs. They allows us to provide information to those who make decisions that affect policies, positions, and programs.
The information that we gather is often used to help job candidates contextualize salaries, inform administrators creating job descriptions, assist those planning lab renovations, inform directors about trends and the direction the field is heading, etc. The information will be shared in aggregate at the next IALLT conference, in addition to other venues.
Thank you for your time.
