Fourth Graders will sing the National Anthem!!
Gates will open at 6pm, game at 7:05 pm. Wear your Burgess Fun Run shirt.
4th graders should gather at the guest services kiosk. We will be escorted to the field around 6:45pm.

Attention Child Development and Kindergarten families:
We are very excited to sing for you on Wednesday, May 27th at 8:00 am in our BES gym! Eight songs for their sweet voices to finish off our year! Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Thursday, April 2nd was our Fine Arts Day, and it was truly an amazing experience. While my goal is always to instill a lifelong love of music, nothing makes me prouder than seeing former students continue their musical journeys as they participate in ensembles as they grow. These performance groups include band, orchestra, and choir.

The St. James Middle School Band performed for our students, and it was wonderful to see how many former Burgess students have dedicated their time and effort to learning an instrument.
Kudos to the group and many thanks to Mr. Kyle Moultrie for connecting with the students and guiding them through their musical journey!

Fourth Grade families:
Your students have two more musical experiences this year!

First, Fourth Graders will be singing the National Anthem at the Pelicans game on Friday, May 15, 2026. Game time is 7:05 pm. Gates should open around 6 pm. Website for purchasing tickets is on the poster. You may leave your student with me at the Guest Services Kiosk, while you find your seats. After singing the anthem, we will walk to the stands and find you.

Second, your students will be singing a song at the FOURTH Quarter award ceremony. Just another fabulous way to end the school year!

OKAY! Second Grade families, it’s your turn!
Mark your calendar:
Second Graders will sing on stage for the school on Thursday, 4/30. Then, they will sing for parents and families in Friday, 5/1 at 9:00 am in our BES gym.

Our show is called “Pajama Party!” And we sing about how fun bedtime can be.
There are a few bonuses:
1. Students can wear pajamas on both days.
2. Students can bring a blanket on both days (optional).
3. Students may bring a stuffed animal on both days. One of our songs is about a stuffed animal, and they will use it during the song. My request is that it’s small enough to keep by their feet.

Dr. Seuss and the Cat in the Hat will be ready to perform for you! On Friday, February 27, 2026, First Grade will perform for you some amazing Seuss-Songs!

Third Grade went to see Elf the Musical today! This was a great connection to their upcoming Holiday show later this week. We’ll have great talking points about the hard work and preparation we have for our show and the hard work the high schoolers put in for a more complicated program.
I’ve always been a ‘Buddy the Elf’ fan, but today’s ’Buddy’ is one of my piano students.

Attention Third Grade Families!
Our Third Graders will be singing and telling the story of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas for a school performance on Thursday, December 18, 2025; and a Parent performance on Friday, December 19, 2025.
Both of those days are festive holiday dress up days, so nothing extra is needed, however, for the parent performance on Friday, you may choose to dress your student in a special holiday outfit, or in pajamas (since our play is a bedtime story).
They will sing in the gym at 9:00 am. We look forward to seeing you on December 19th.

Attention 4th grade families:
Veterans Day is quickly approaching. Please mark your calendar!
4th graders will perform two times.
Monday, November 10th (school assembly) and Tuesday, November 11th (parent performance) at 9:00 am.
Please send your students to school dressed in red, white and blue on BOTH days.

I absolutely LOVED seeing ALL the Burgess students that came to the Pelicans game this evening! I’ve truly missed everyone. The hugs and chats with all students and their grownups made my heart happy and feeling whole.
The fourth graders did so very well, and I’m very proud of them. 30 kids sounded like 60!
