School report cards are out, and Myrtle Beach High School earned a good rating! The SC Department of Education issues school report cards, and the results reflect our students' academic achievement and the school’s environment.
A rating of Good indicates that our school’s performance exceeds the criteria to ensure all students meet the Profile of the SC Graduate.
The release of the School Report Card provides another excellent opportunity for reflection and conversations with our students about very intentional goals and growth. We began the school year sharing all of the information below with our faculty and again with students in Class Meetings, but we want to make sure all of our parents are aware of the many accomplishments we achieved together last year and the clear, exciting path forward.
Before we look ahead to our goals for this school year, we want to celebrate the incredible accomplishments of our students, teachers, staff, and families. Last year was a remarkable year at Myrtle Beach High School!
Several of our celebrations from the 2025-2026 school year are included below:
💛 Highest graduation rate in school history — for the second consecutive year!
💚 Highest College, Career and Military Readiness rate in school history!
💛 Increased the percentage of report card points earned for As, Bs, and Cs on every State Assessment: English 2, U.S. History and the Constitution, Algebra 1, and Biology.
💚 Nearly 20% increase in students earning a 3+ on AP exams over four years.
💛 Earned Cognia STEM Certification.
💚 Entered International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Candidacy status.
💛 Top 10 HCS Teacher of the Year: Jen Moreno
💚 Rookie Teacher of the Year: Hume Sammons
💛 NJROTC ranked 12th in the nation.
💚 State Champion Theater Program for The Ninth Train.
💛 Most All-State Chorus members in school history!
💚 Individual State Track Champions:
🏆 JJ Brown — High Jump (Back-to-Back) and Long Jump
🏆 Aaliyah Livingston — High Jump (Back-to-Back)
💚 Back-to-Back Boys Tennis State Champions, with four state championships in the past five years!

These accomplishments are worth celebrating! They remind us of what is possible when students, families, teachers, staff, and our entire school community work together.
Our academic data gives us a clear picture of where we are and where we want to go. As we work toward our 2026-2027 academic goals, your partnership at home can make a meaningful difference.
How Can Families Help?
Encourage Daily Reading
Ask your student what they are reading in class and encourage reading at home—even 20–30 minutes a day. Talk about new vocabulary, ideas, and what they are learning.
Monitor Grades and Attendance
Regularly check PowerSchool for grades, missing assignments, and attendance. Help your student develop a plan when work begins to fall behind. Consistent attendance is one of the most important foundations for academic success.
Communicate With Teachers
If your student is struggling, reach out early. Our teachers want to partner with you to identify concerns, provide support, and celebrate progress. Tutoring opportunities are available to our students Tuesdays. Wednesdays, and Thursdays after school from 3:30-4:30 pm.
Talk About Goals and the Future
Ask your student about their academic goals and what they see themselves doing after high school. Whether their pathway leads to a four-year university, technical college, military service, workforce, or another opportunity, help them connect today's learning to tomorrow's possibilities.
Encourage Effort and Accountability
Celebrate growth, perseverance, and improvement—not just grades. Encourage your student to ask questions, seek help, complete assignments, and take ownership of their learning.
Stay Connected to MBHS
Attend conferences, school events, parent meetings, academic programs, concerts, theater productions, and athletic events whenever possible. Join our PSTO. Join the Myrtle Beach High School All-Sports Booster Club.
