'Protected Learning': Horry County Schools to take further steps to reduce screen time Horry County Schools Superintendent Clifford Jones plans to drive a "Protected Learning" initiative across the district that will significant cut down on screen time both in and outside of the classroom.

The Horry County Board of Education has issued a proclamation wishing Dr. Marilyn "Murph" Fore a rewarding and fulfilling retirement from Horry-Georgetown Technical College after her distinguished 51-year career there. HCS is grateful for her visionary leadership and her beneficial service to the educational community.

Registration is open for Myrtle Beach's youth football league!🏈

Space is still available in Myrtle Beach's summer and fall sports! The cost per child and $50 for city residents or $100 for non-city residents for football or $50 for city residents and $75 for non-city residents for cheerleading.

The football and cheerleading programs begin in July. Click https://customer.recplus.cityofmyrtlebeach.com/ to register. See the age groups below:

FOOTBALL (Non-padded workouts starting mid-July)
Boys ages 7-8
Boys ages 9-10
Boys ages 11-12

CHEERLEADING (Practices starting in late July)
Ages 4-6 (Mini)
Ages 7-12 (Youth)

The MBMS faculty and staff end each year with pie from Croissants and ice cream from Kirk’s- nothing says summer in the South like pie and ice cream!
