St. Philip Preschool - Myrtle Beach

Day 3&4 at camp we painted bird nests, decorated eggs, filled our nests to make them cozy and added our eggs, searched for worms, more play dough (we can’t get enough!!), painted birds…or whatever felt good, got to make art with tempera sticks, we listened to different bird calls from a very cool book and of course enjoyed some beautiful time on the playground. So much fun this week! Cant wait for our next camp in July 🌻Happy summer!

All About Birds Camp Day 2: After spending a beautiful sunny morning on the playground we built our snack (nests with shredded wheat & pretzel sticks & mini marshmallows for eggs). We painted birds & had tools to add texture & patterns, we ate the middle of an orange & used the rind as a bowl to stuff with bird seed, we explored our seed bins, created with play dough, and looked through & colored the pages of our own backyard birds book. Today we talked about what is a bird, that they don’t all fly, have different beaks for different food & all birds lay eggs. We read: Bird Builds a Nest.

Our little birds all built their own nest today for snack with shredded wheat and pretzel sticks. When their nest was ready, they got to add their eggs (mini marshmallows!).

Day 1 of all About Birds Camp- lots of fun was had! We painted with feathers, made a bird feeder with Cheerios, explored a sensory bin of bird seed, had a drawing table & a play dough table, had some free play with animals & blocks & magna-tiles, read Mel Fell, and of course got some good playground time in before the rain!

It’s always hard to believe when a school year comes to its end. We have loved seeing the friendships made and the growth of our Owls, Frogs & Bees.
