Paul's Preschool works as a team to provide a developmentally appropriate program. Through the use of educational tools, toys, art media and scores of natural objects around them, the children acquire and build important cognitive skills. Programs are planned toward the physical, social, emotional and intellectual growth of each child. The preschool stresses the importance of small age-related gro

ups for the optimum learning experience and as a means for meeting individual needs. We believe that early childhood is a most important time. It is during these years that the foundations for future learning are laid. Concrete early learning experience in math, sciences, social studies, and literature are offered in structured and unstructured formats. Physical growth is aided by the use of manipulatives and large motor skills equipment. In our pre-kindergarten classes, we stress phonics and phonemic awareness, math skills, such as counting and number recognition, making and reaching graphs, and other basics. As a church-based preschool, we also address religious and moral concerns in a loving and open way that we feel will be comfortable for families of all religions and beliefs. Our room is divided into careful, structured activity areas. During part of the program, children investigate freely while supported and guided by the teachers. During other parts of the day, there are structured activities for the entire class. Parent-teacher confereces are scheduled for January, but may be requested at any time. A newsletter outlining our plans for the month is sent home at the beginning of each month.
