Our post may be a little late… but we promise we had a good reason! 😉 Between getting our own kiddos on the buses, walking them into school, and maybe drying a few tears (we won’t say if those tears were ours or theirs 😭💙), our morning got a little busy!

But we couldn’t let the first day go by without wishing all of our Jackson students, staff, and friends a wonderful first day of school! 🍎✏️📚

We hope today is filled with excitement, smiles, new beginnings, and lots of HOORAY moments! 🎉

🙋‍♀️💙 Interested in Volunteering at Jackson Elementary This School Year? 💛🙋‍♂️

We are excited to welcome all of our students back in just a few weeks!

Throughout the school year, there are many opportunities for parents and family members to get involved—from field trips to special events and other fun activities.

To volunteer at any school-sponsored event, all volunteers must complete the district's volunteer requirements and receive School Board approval. Since this process can take some time, we encourage anyone who thinks they may want to volunteer this year to complete the requirements as soon as possible.

📅 Planning to volunteer at the beginning of the school year? To be considered for approval at this month's School Board meeting, all required paperwork must be submitted by Wednesday, August 12.

📋 Visit the ELCO School District website for a complete list of volunteer requirements and instructions.

❓If you have any questions about the volunteer process, please contact Mrs. Smith in the Jackson Elementary office.

💡 Good to know: Volunteer clearances are typically valid for five years. If you're unsure whether your clearances are still current, Mrs. Smith can help you verify their status.

The countdown to the first day of school is on!

Meet the Teacher Night for 1st and 2nd Grade will be held:

Kindergarten is almost here, and we can't wait to welcome our newest students!

Join us for Kindergarten Meet the Teacher & Bus Ride Night
🗓️ Tuesday, August 18
🕔 5:00–6:00 PM

This is a great opportunity for students to:
🚌 Ride the school bus
👩‍🏫 Meet their teacher
🏫 Explore the school before the first day

📚 The kindergarten supply list is included with this post. Please note that supplies should be brought on the first day of school in a gallon-size Ziploc bag. Please do not label individual supplies—teachers will label them at school.

Did you know you can subscribe to the ELCO School District calendar and have your specific school building(s) and district events automatically added to your personal electronic calendar?

Here's how:
1️⃣ Visit the ELCO School District website and open the District Calendar.
2️⃣ Click the Subscribe Button (top right of the calendar) and follow the prompts to add it to your Google, Apple, or Outlook calendar.

The 2026–2027 district calendar is already updated with important dates, school events, holidays, early dismissals, and more—making it a great resource for families.

📅 We'll also be sharing important PTO dates and reminders over the next several days, so be sure to follow along!
