John Spears
President

John is one of the co-leaders for consulting engagements and is the author of the firm's Drilling and Production Outlook and the Drilling and Completion Services Cost Index Reports. After getting an MBA, John worked as a management consultant in the Detroit office of a Big 4 accounting firm. John has served as an independent consultant in the IPO process of six Chinese firms serving the upstream oilfield equipment and service industry.

The AADE Mid-Continent Chapter Events raise money for the Nate Fleming, Paul Legg and Scotty Turner Memorial Scholarships.

For this 2025-2026 school year we are awarding $30,000 in scholarships!

The AADE MidCon Chapter is pleased to announce the following scholarship selections.

AADE Nate Fleming Memorial Scholarship. - $2000 per year

Congratulations to everyone that participated as a sponsor, entrant, or volunteer at this year’s tournament. The numbers are in and with everyone’s help we were able to set a record and raise a little over $10,000 for the AADE Memorial Scholarship Funds! So again, thank you very much to everyone that helped make that possible!

On the fishing side of things, the competition was very tight with 53 teams entered in the bass division and the top three finishing within 0.89 pounds of each other! Congratulations to 2025 bass division champs, Alex Allen and Josh Williams! They overcame tough windy, cold, & wet conditions and captured first place honors with an 18.45 pound bag ‘o bass! Second place honors went to Shawn Olson and Richard Porter who came in at 17.93 pounds, with the top three rounded out by Steve Williams and Rick Gulley with 17.56 pounds, anchored by the second biggest fish of the event at 5.33 pounds. First big bass honors went to Ryan Aikman and Justin Scheffe who weighed in a very nice 6.69 pound largemouth! Well done folks!

Big thank you’s and congratulations to the folks participating in year two for the new striper division! We had 12 teams entered, up from 10 from last year’s inaugural for the division. Striper division champs for 2025 are Tad Dennis, Randy Bowen, Alex Shannon, and Ronnie Allison. Their stinger of 30.75 pounds was also anchored by the biggest striped bass of the tournament weighing in at 8.04 pounds. Second place honors for the division went to John Trent, Noah Tritz, Trist Bower, and Paul Bosman with 25.81 pounds. Great job striper division!

Mid-Continent Chapter AADE 6th Annual Fin, Feather, Fur Food Festival (F5)

The F5 is open to both service company vendors and operators that will cook food to be sampled by those in attendance.  Each Cook Team will be asked to prepare a disth that is a Fin, Feather or Fur item.  Guest judges will sample and judge each entry and select a winner for the best food and the attendees will pick a Fan Favorite!
