Spotlight 🌟

Meet Mckenna Lincoln (née Line), Mustang High School Class of 2017.

Mckenna’s journey has taken her from Mustang to Meridian, Idaho, where she and her husband are raising their four children, Kayce, Dixon, Eloise, and Eric. After working at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City during the COVID pandemic, Mckenna stepped away from health care to stay home with her growing family.

Today, she volunteers in her oldest son’s kindergarten classroom and at church, homeschools two of her younger children, and stays connected to her new community through a book club and mom group.

But health care is still part of Mckenna’s story. When her middle son begins kindergarten, she plans to return to school and finish her nursing degree with the goal of becoming a NICU nurse. After two of her children were born prematurely and spent time in the NICU, she hopes to provide other families with the same compassion and support her family received.

Looking back at Mustang, Mckenna especially remembers the people. She met one of her best friends in third grade at Mustang Creek and another in Mrs. Gore’s Algebra class during her junior year.

Mrs. Gore also became one of the educators Mckenna remembers most.

“She was always so helpful and supportive. She listened to me about anything that was wrong and helped me make a plan when I was stuck and unsure of what to do.”

Mckenna says Mrs. Gore’s guidance helped her make a decision during her senior year that changed her life for the better.

From lifelong friendships to an educator whose influence is still felt years later, Mckenna remains proud of her Mustang roots. ❤️🖤

We are excited to share that the Mustang High School SATB Jazz Choir AND the MHS Wind Ensemble have been selected as 2027 Oklahoma Music Educators Association Honor Ensembles! 🎶

This recognition is earned through a rigorous and highly competitive statewide audition process featuring some of Oklahoma’s top high school music programs. Having two MHS ensembles selected represents an outstanding accomplishment for our student musicians and the teachers who have challenged, encouraged, and prepared them.

Both ensembles will take center stage with featured performances at the 2027 OkMEA State Conference in Tulsa on Friday, January 22.

Congratulations to our Jazz Choir and Wind Ensemble students and directors on earning one of the highest state-level distinctions available to an ensemble. We can’t wait to hear you in Tulsa! 👏🎵

Learning science by doing science! 🌈

Mustang High School students recently explored density through a hands-on Physical Science lab, creating colorful density columns with salt solutions and working together to investigate how substances interact.

We love seeing our students learning through experimentation, collaboration and discovery! 🐴
