🔬🚀 Open House Tonight at Base Camp Journey Academy!

If your kids enjoyed our Discovery Lab Explorer Day at the Mustang Library and you'd love for them to have more hands-on STEM experiences like that throughout the school year, come see us tonight!

I'll be at the Base Camp Journey Academy Open House from 6-8pm, located near Morgan Rd. & State Highway 152 in Mustang, sharing more about the FermIQ Discovery Lab STEM program.

Our program is designed for both homeschool and after-school students and runs from 3:30–5:30 PM. Students have dedicated time for homework completion and then transition into hands-on STEM learning through engineering, life science, biotechnology, agriculture science, circuits, programming, and more.

But we're not just doing activities!

Throughout the year, students build skills through experimentation, problem-solving, and the engineering design process. During our final Innovation Week, they'll put those skills together to identify an everyday problem, develop their own solution, design and build a working prototype, and present what they've created.

The goal is to give kids a place to explore, experiment, build, make mistakes, try again—and discover just how much they're capable of creating.

If you're looking for a STEM enrichment opportunity for your child this school year, stop by tonight and learn more!

What an incredible day of discovery!

Today’s FermIQ Discovery Lab Adventure Day was filled with curious minds, messy experiments, big questions, and LOTS of smiles! 💚

Our young scientists explored everything from slime and chemistry 🧪 to microbes and fermentation 🔬 to rockets, catapults, and engineering 🚀 — learning that science isn’t just something you read about… it’s something you can touch, build, test, and discover.

Seeing the kids get excited about experimenting, asking “why?”, and proudly showing off what they created is exactly why FermIQ Discovery Lab was created. It's such a privilege to watch the kids enjoy science as much as I do!!!

A huge THANK YOU to every family who came out, explored with us, and supported our very first Discovery Lab event. Also HUGE THANK YOU to my STEM MENTORS who helped guide the activities!!!

This is just the beginning and I’m so excited about what we’re building right here in our community. 💚

Activity Passports are in!!!!!! We are hosting our first Explorer Day at Mustang Library this Saturday !! I can't wait to meet all of the kiddos and have some fun. They will make their own slime, build paper rockets and catapults. Lastly, we will investigate how microbes support digestion and see what pH has to do with it!!!

I can't wait to see everyone there. It's a free event, but comment below if you will be there. 👇🏽

We will have activity tables set up from 11-1pm.

I wasn't planning on posting today... but I just got my author's proof and I'm way too excited not to share it! 🤩📚

It's kind of surreal to finally hold my first authored book in my hands.

After more than a decade in biotech, I've had the opportunity to work in the lab, support scientists and engineers, and teach students along the way. Through those experiences, I kept seeing the same thing—a gap between what people learn and what they need to feel confident stepping into a real bioprocess lab. That realization is what inspired me to write the FermIQ Handbook: a practical guide to make bioreactor technology and process control easier to understand and less intimidating for the next generation of scientists and engineers.

This book has definitely been a labor of love and seeing the proof makes it all feel real.

We're almost there... publication is coming very soon, and I can't wait to finally share it with all of you!

When I'm not building hands-on STEM curriculum for kids through FermIQ Discovery Lab, I'm working with biotech professionals to implement bioprocesses and some of the most innovative technologies in the industry.

Every lesson I create is inspired by real experiences from the laboratory and manufacturing floor. My goal is to make STEM meaningful by introducing students to the science, technology, engineering, and problem-solving skills used in biotechnology—an industry many young learners may never otherwise discover.

It's a privilege to help shape the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators while also supporting the professionals advancing biotechnology today. I believe every student deserves the opportunity to see where STEM can take them.
