Day 2 of our 6th graders out on Muskegon Lake with GVSU’s water research vessel. The students worked together to complete tasks that could be used in research for many years in the future. Such an amazing experience and connection to our community! Our bus driver even joined in and helped the students with the water samples!

Today we launched our adaptive sports program! They worked to build friendships, relationships and have fun! The amount of empathy and collaboration was so great! Thanks to our amazing team of teachers they made this happen!!!

We couldn’t have drawn this up to be a better day for our 6th graders to be out on Muskegon Lake with GVSU’s water research vessel. The team is studying sustainability and how humans impact ecosystem through many different behaviors! Collaboration, curiosity and problem-solving were in full force today!!

Body scans. Coping skills and how exercise can mimic the same feeling as big emotional times. So valuable for our kids.

This month we are focusing on Self-Awareness…a skill kids at this age can really benefit from!! If you want to extend the conversation at home we are asking kids to try and “think before they react!”
