Muskegon High School seniors in the Skilled Trades career pathway are applying classroom workshop learning to Habitat for Humanity of Northern Muskegon job sites. These students will be on the jobsite 2 times per week this semester, helping to build Habitat homes on Catherine for families in our community while learning career skills.

BIG RED FAMILIES: Starting Monday, 9/28, school dismissal times have changed:
- Elementary Student Start & End Times: 8:30am-3:28pm
- Secondary Student Start & End Times: 7:45am-2:36pm

This change is because, to open the school year, the district maintained the same beginning and end times as last school year since we were negotiating with the teachers’ union as
required by law. Those negotiations have now concluded and there is an adjustment that is now needed for the dismissal time of students.

In the next couple of weeks, if your family has needs with the new dismissal time, please contact your building administrator so we can problem-solve together.

We understand changes like this can require adjustments for families, and we appreciate your patience and partnership during this transition.

The MHS Big Red Marching Band heads to the Grand Haven Marching Band Invitational this Saturday, September 26th, performing at 7:15 PM at Buccaneer Stadium on the campus of Grand Haven High School.

Come support our students as they showcase months of hard work and dedication on the competition field!

🎟️ Admission: $7 adults / $5 seniors & students / free for kids 5 & under. Family ticket (2 adults max): $22.

Join the Muskegon Big Red Community on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Hackley Stadium for Muskegon High School’s upcoming football game vs. the Reeths-Puffer Rockets at 7:00 PM!

Friday's game will celebrate both Homecoming 2026 and Alumni Night. Come out, be a part of all the festivities, and cheer on the Big Reds!

The MHS Big Red Marching Band will be featured throughout the evening with pregame, halftime, and postgame performances. You won't want to miss the band's Edgar Allan Poe–themed halftime show, titled Crimson.

Looking forward to seeing our Big Red alumni, families, and community out in full force to support the school and band.
