📚New Book Spotlight!📚

This book follows the rise of large retail companies, like Amazon and Walmart, and how they have been able to thrive because of a permissive US regulatory environment. Cheap labor mixed with mass consumerism has left low-income American families dependent on these giant retailers. Using a comparative format, Thelen highlights the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, and Sweden and how those countries created systems where large low-cost retailers can't thrive in the same way they can in the United States.

If this sounds interesting to you, stop by and check out Attention, Shoppers! American Retail Capitalism and the Origins of the Amazon Economy by Kathleen Thelen.
