Our testing schedule has been posted - Please make sure your student gets at least 8 hours of sleep and that they have a healthy breakfast. It is very important that your student does the best that they can, as I use these tests to guide our lessons. Our schedule is as follows:
September 20th @ 9:10 - Language Arts
September 26th @9:10 - Reading
September 28th @ 9:10 - Math
It is very important that your student be in school on those days. If you have any questions about our NWEA testing, please feel free to contact me. Your student's results will be sent home as soon as testing is complete and the results have been reviewed.

This year at Timberland Charter Academy our theme is Champions. All of our students are Champions and we are striving to help them achieve their academic goals. In keeping with that theme, all Champions practice. Homework is our practice. You can expect homework to go home every night. On Tuesday and Thursday your student will bring home reading fluency practice. Please time your student for one minute to help them increase their reading rate. Then, allow them to read the whole passage without being timed. Take some time and ask them questions about the reading. It is not just about how fast they can read, but do they understand what it is they are reading.
Monday through Thursday you can expect your student to bring home math homework. This is practice for the next day’s quiz. If they do not do the homework, they will not be allowed to redo the quiz should they get a low score. Homework must be stapled to the quiz at THE TIME THE QUIZ IS TAKEN. If they forget their homework, they will not be allowed to retake the quiz. No student will be allowed to call home for their homework.

If you do not contact that school in some way, then your student will be put on the bus. This is for the safety of your student. Thank you for your understanding.

Wow! What an amazing first week of school, I think we are going to have an amazing class. I truly am excited about all the possibilities this year is going to hold for us.

Below is a list of school supplies you will need for this upcoming year. Please note, when you bring these supplies in they will go into a class supply closet. I have already purchased many of the items you will need. Those marked with an asterisk are supplies we will put into a supply closet to be used throughout the year.

1 box of cap erasers
2 block erasers
1 pencil box
1 hand-held pencil sharpener
2 boxes of tissue *
1 box of band aids*
1 jar of hand sanitizer*
1 ruler
1 pair of scissors
1 package of lined paper (100 sheets)*
1 box of colored pencils (12 ct)*
1 box of crayons (24 count)*
6 spiral bound note books (70 sheet) *no designs please
