Okay: the vote is in! It looks like Spike and Spikey tied! 😊. So you can choose which one you want to call him!

Also……. Spike, our very hungry caterpillar, ate through one very large leaf….. and now he has disappeared!

Somewhere I am guessing he’s building a cocoon. Hopefully I can find where he is hiding!

Caterpillar update for any kiddos wondering….. I was gone for a few days over the weekend. When I got back our caterpillar had gotten bigger and turned a light brown color! He’s still living on my Cana plant.
Maybe we should give him/her a name. Any preschoolers who want to give us some suggestions? We could put it to a vote!

Hello to all our families! We are missing your smiling faces. We hope you are having a wonderful summer break. I have a fuzzy visitor at my house right now that I thought the kids would enjoy seeing. I think it is a Virginian Tiger Moth Caterpillar, otherwise known as White Yellow wooly bears.

I’m hoping he will stick around for awhile so we can all see what he’s up to. Tonight he was munching on my Cana plant. I got a quick video so you guys can all see him eating away. Just like the caterpillar in The Very Hungry Caterpillar book we read this Spring.
