On Thursday the middle school had an Olympic themed field day! They were given a color and put into teams where they picked a name and created a flag for their team. They then competed in different events: jigsaw puzzles, trivia, water relays, egg toss, and volleyball. It was a great day!! It was a great way to end the school year! We hope everyone has an amazing summer!

First grade went to the Quad Cities Botanical Center! They enjoyed the sunny gardens, planted their own houseplant to take home, learned about carnivorous plants, and explored the sun garden! It was a great day!

Last Friday SMMCS senior alumni walked our halls once more! Congratulations to the class of 2026 on your graduation. We wish you many blessings in your future endeavors!!

Last week our preschoolers had a special visit from the Sheriff’s Department and their amazing K9 officer! 🐾🚓

The children loved learning about how police dogs help keep our communities safe. The K9 demonstrated how they use their powerful sense of smell to locate hidden items, track scents, and assist officers during searches. One of the highlights was watching the dog quickly find a hidden training box during a scent-detection demonstration!

Thank you to our local sheriff and K9 team for taking the time to teach our students about safety, teamwork, and the important jobs these hardworking dogs do every day.
