Just a little less than 2 weeks left to help MELC in the Muskie Madness Blood Drive! Give blood and tell them MELC sent you!

MUSKIE MADNESS RESULTS

We are halfway through this year's Muskie Madness In-Center Blood Drive. Here are the results through two weeks:

Mulberry Elementary -- 14
McKinley Elementary -- 13
Jefferson Elementary -- 12
Madison Elementary -- 11
Grant Elementary -- 10
Franklin Elementary -- 7
Muskie Early Learning Center -- 6

If you are interested in donating, visit the ImpactLife Donor Center at 2604 2nd Avenue in Muscatine. When you visit, tell them which school you would like them to credit.

One school will earn the ultimate bragging rights for community impact. If each school collects at least 20 donations at the end of the four weeks, they will be eligible for a $270 LifeSavings Grant to use for a project or buy supplies at their building.

GROSS MOTOR PLAY!!

The cold temps mean that children have been spending a lot of time indoors! Our Locomotion Lane (aka the gym) offers many opportunities for children to move their bodies and release some of their energy on these cold weather days!

UNDERCOVER STAFF SPIRIT WEEK!

Our staff had fun last week with our undercover spirit week! From Undercover Ninjas to Dress Like a Preschooler to Anything But a Cup Day, it was a fun week!

Miss Chelsea’s class took full advantage of the snow with a sledding party! Even the adults got in on the fun!!

It’s almost Thanksgiving and that means the turkeys need to hide! We love the creativity of our families as they work together to disguise the turkeys! Thank you to all of our families who participated in this fun activity!

Our students may have got out early yesterday and had a day off today, but for our staff that means it’s time for learning! Our entire staff gathered yesterday afternoon to continue learning about promoting social-emotional learning and preventing challenging behavior. Today many of our staff went through training to be certified in infant/child CPR/1st-Aid. A special thanks to Toni Krana with Trinity Muscatine Public Health and Chris Jasper with Muscatine Emergency Management for providing today’s training!
