That’s the mechanics of an ACL sprain.

Most players start with the club’s center of mass too far forward — and that kills your ability to tune.

When the club’s CoM sits in front of the hands, everything in the system tightens. You’ve already “spent” your movement before you even start the swing.

Keep the club’s center of mass in vertical support/over the hands, take a breath, feel that bottom-up support — that’s how you stay ALIVE in setup.

That early plyo-step — the subtle unweight → weight cycle — isn’t a throwaway detail. It’s how the system reorganizes pressure, sets direction, and builds the inertial landscape that makes later muscle action effective.

If you cue too much early tension, you overwrite that passive tuning and end up coaching athletes to “twist” their way up instead of ride the pressure wave.

For coaches, trainers, and medical… understanding this sequence is critical: connective tissue behavior leads, muscle follows.
