It’s with a very heavy heart to announce the passing of Sensei Jesses Mom Gina Curtis. For all of you who knew her, Gina was a huge part of the Dojo for many years and was able to touch so many lives during her time both inside and outside of the dojo. Many of you got to train with her or see her watching her grandbabies compete in tournaments or test for their new belts. She was a light beyond measure for anyone who knew her and she will be gravely missed. Thank you to all of you who have personally reached out to Sensei Jesse. Your thoughts, prayers, kind and compassionate words mean the world to him and he’s deeply moved by the outpouring of love and support from all of you. We appreciate each and every one of you.

A couple of weeks ago we hosted our semi annual inner dojo tournament where are students showed off their skills, and most importantly, their character. Stepping out of your comfort zone is terrifying we all know that. But regardless, these students showed incredible courage, resilience, and quick thinking under stressful situations. Today we received a good job note for Nicolette. We are so proud of Nicolette for doing such an amazing job. Her mom couldn’t be happier! Nicolette: make sure when you get to the dojo you move your elf three extra spots for doing such an amazing job. Parents: if you want your kids to be posted on our social page all you have to do is email us! We will still be reading good job notes in class time permitting!

ICYMI This past Sunday was the USAMA California state point sparring championship. A handful of hungry, competitive students along with Sensei Will went to show off their skills. Everyone did a phenomenal job at the tournament! We are so proud of our students. They showed not just their karate skills, but their perseverance, determination, and good sportsmanship skills as well! Good character will always be worth more than any trophy. And we are proud to introduce to you the 2025 USAMA point sparring grand champion, our very own SENSEI WILL! Give him a high five when you see him!
