Our very own John “the Baptist” Tabarez made his professional MMA Debut this past Saturday and won with a first round knockout!!!

John came to Fight Syndicate as a 12 year old kid that needed an outlet to fight and over the years we have watched him grow from being the troubled teenager that he once was, to turning his life around and becoming the God fearing man that inspires us all! We could not be more proud of you John in the fighter you are and leader you’ve become at the gym.

I’ve been in his corner for every fight, from winning amateur USA boxing titles as a teenager to having his first Amateur MMA fight at only 16 years old, going on to win the first ever Hendo Fight night championship belt, to California golden gloves State championship title, to So-Cal state champion and now to his first step in his Professional Career.

We are excited what the future holds for John as a professional fighter, and I’ll be with you every punch along the way. Keep your eyes open for his next fight, he will not disappoint!! Love you John, very proud Coach and friend!!

What a great weekend!!! Started off Friday night with winning his full contact Muay Thai debut!!! Then Saturday morning had the privilege of hosting teaching an amazing seminar courtesy of And immediately after that some of my amazing students and families threw a “coaches appreciation” party! I cannot express how thankful I am for all the great people in my life, I was definitely at church this morning with my bff thanking God for all of you!!!

Congratulations to Menifee resident Jorge Moreno, who won first place at the Pan American Championships for team USA this week. This took place in the Mixed Martial Arts Championships in Monterrey, Mexico.

A young mixed martial arts competitor from Menifee is making a name for himself in international circles.

JJ Moreno, age 12, traveled to Abu Dhabi on Aug. 6 and finished second in the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation world championships. The 70-pounder, who trains at Fight Syndicate in Murrieta, isn’t done yet, however.

On Aug. 31 through Sept. 7, he will compete in the IMMAF Pan American Championships in Monterrey, Mexico.

We will be closed for regular classes on the 4th of July but we will be doing a HUGE open mat welcome to all styles, Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Wrestling, Boxing or whatever discipline you would like to train. This event is free but will also be a fundraiser for .jaymma2011 to represent the USA at the World Championships in Abu Dhabi!!!!
