We had an extra participant on our nature hike this morning! (free admission of course)
Thank you to everyone who came out to learn about our native plants. We had such a fantastic group who asked great questions, took notes, pictures and shared their own foraging stories. I hope everyone left with a broader view of how fruitful our local environment can be.
The more we know the more we see how special our natural areas are, how many living things rely on these plants to survive and the necessity to protect them all.

I will be holding one (possibly two) Foraging Focused Nature Hikes each month during the spring season. I'll be announcing the next one soon, I'm already looking forward to it!

Now that we've had our winter rains and plenty of sunshine, this is the perfect time to go out and see what's growing. I'll be holding a Guided Nature Walk one week from today at Cole Canyon Trail in Murrieta from 10:00 - 11:00 am. It's an easy, light hike along the creek identifying native plants we see, talking about their ecological importance, historical significance and for the edible and medicinal, positive or negative effects and how to properly forage them.
Book through my website at

In this special event, we dive into our local, autumn Plant Medicines. We'll start out by reviewing what's in season & proper foraging techniques. We will review which herbs to use for certain ailments as well as how to make poultices, compresses, infusions, decoctions, tinctures, salves & liniments. Only some of these can be made in the field. I also will provide mason jars with dried plant materials so everyone in attendance can see, touch & smell each herb in order to learn how to properly identify them in the wild. It is incredibly important that we remember to use our senses when it comes to identifying plants, there are quite a few look-alikes out there so be safe, be mindful and always double check when you're foraging.

Notebooks, pencils & disposable tea bags will be provided for those who want to take notes or take a few things home to try out. There are only 12 seats available at $45 per person. I'm so excited to meet more of my local community through the mutual love & respect of our natural world, Ahí'yé, Thank You!

It's Pineapple W**d season! I like to refer to this wonderful herb as California Chamomile even though it's native to all of North America. The yellow tops and leaves can be used to make a delicious tea, equal to chamomile and the roots and stems can be cleaned chopped and added to a salad for extra nutrients. It can also be used medicinally to treat colds, upset stomach or even to ease menstrual cramps. If you have time today, I HIGHLY recommend you go out and pull some while the ground is still soft so you can get the full benefit of what these delicious herbs have to offer. Make sure to say a little prayer to the land and give thanks for what you're gathering 🙏🏽 Have a great day everyone and happy harvesting!

Dada nołtéé nowhíí! Hello everyone! I wanted to give a sneak peak at the newest addition to Wildcraft Workshops, Bow Making! 🏹 After a few months of gathering branches, stripping the bark, and allowing ample time to cure, I'm just about ready to start hosting my bow making workshop! I have 33 fresh staves here from multiple different types of trees and so far, they're all looking good. I made sure to get a decent variety of sizes to suit those who want to take part when the time comes (we will be choosing each limb in accordance with your height) After checking them today I decided to let them dry out for a few more weeks but I will be announcing it here the moment I open up bookings. I will be teaching hands-on workshops showing how to craft your very own, traditional style long bow. Although you won't have to worry about the first few steps, I will discuss the details on scouting the right tree, what to look for, the best season for gathering staves and all the nuances I've learned over the years making my own archery gear. This will also include the arrow making workshop since you're going to need something to shoot once you've finished. It takes a lot of work, patience and time to craft your own bow so I'm working on ways to minimize as much as I can to make this as convenient for everyone as possible. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to DM me or leave a comment below. Ahí'yé (Thank you) 🙏🏽
