Reversing letters or numbers, such as confusing b and d or 2 and s, is common and developmentally normal in children up to the age of 7. For children with dyslexia, these reversals can continue well past the end of 1st grade if not addressed. More info on reversals can be found at https://www.understood.org/en/learning-thinking-differences/child-learning-disabilities/dyslexia/faqs-about-reversing-letters-writing-letters-backwards-and-dyslexia.

At Dyslexia Learning Center, we use a particular Barton method to help with b-d confusion. But there is more than one way to help kids stop mixing up b and d. Check out this link!
