What a day for our team! 🔥

Every single one of our competitors stepped onto the mats today and gave it everything they had. They fought through tough matches, pushed past nerves, and represented our team with heart, courage, and sportsmanship. Win or lose, we couldn’t be more proud of each and every one of you. ❤️

And our ladies showed up BIG! 💪❤️
Our female competitors brought home 3RD PLACE OVERALL! 🥉🏆

That podium represents so much more than medals. It represents the hours of training, the hard rounds, the early mornings, the sacrifices, the nerves, the teammates who pushed you, and the courage it takes to step out there and test yourself.

Also today, Professor Mike stepped onto the mats too, competing in his own Super Fight. He fought hard, left it all out there, and came up short on the result—but that’s competition. We don’t always get the outcome we want, but we always have the opportunity to learn, grow, and come back stronger. 💪🥋

To everyone who competed today: we are incredibly proud of you.

Two years ago, Gracie Barra Murrieta opened its doors with one goal: to build more than just a Jiu-Jitsu academy—we wanted to build a family.

What started as a vision has grown into a community filled with incredible students, dedicated coaches, supportive parents, and friendships that extend far beyond the mats.

Over the last two years we’ve celebrated promotions, tournament victories, personal milestones, first classes, and countless moments of growth. But the greatest accomplishment isn’t the medals or the belts—it’s the people who choose to walk through our doors every day and make this place feel like home.

To every student who trusts us with their journey, every parent who believes in our mission, every coach who pours their heart into teaching, and every family member cheering from the sidelines… thank you. You are the reason Gracie Barra Murrieta is what it is today.

A special thank you to Vitor Lima for beautifully capturing this celebration and helping preserve these memories for years to come. Thank you to Ritas of Murrieta for keeping everyone cool with their amazing Italian ice, and to all of our families and friends who generously brought treats and desserts to share with everyone. Your kindness and support made this celebration even more special.

Here’s to two unforgettable years and to the next chapter of learning, growing, and achieving together.

Big lessons come in small packages. 💙🥋

Our Tiny Champions (3-4 yrs old) are learning so much more than Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Every class is an opportunity to build confidence, develop discipline, work as a team, and practice skills they will carry with them for life. We teach Black Belt Posture as a foundation for self-control, Super Hero Focus to help students stay attentive and engaged, and the importance of respecting their coaches, teammates, and themselves.

Through every game, drill, and technique, our students learn how to listen, overcome challenges, support one another, and never give up. While they are having fun on the mats, they are also developing the character, confidence, and life skills that extend far beyond the academy.

We’re proud of every smile, every high five, and every milestone our Tiny Champions achieve. Watching them grow into confident, respectful, and resilient young leaders is why we do what we do.

🇺🇸 Holiday Closure Notice 🇺🇸

Gracie Barra Murrieta will be closed on Friday, July 3rd, and Saturday, July 4th in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

We will resume our regular class schedule on Monday, July 6th.

We hope everyone has a safe, fun, and relaxing holiday weekend spent with family and friends.

To all who have served and continue to serve our country—both in the United States Armed Forces and as first responders—thank you for your courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to protecting our communities and our nation. Your service is deeply appreciated.

Competition isn’t easy. It takes the willingness to step into the unknown, test yourself under pressure, and grow through both victory and adversity. That’s why we’re proud of every athlete who stepped onto the mats and represented our team this weekend.

Some brought home medals. Others gained experience. But every competitor walked away stronger.

Thank you to our coaches, teammates, and families for the endless support. Watching our students challenge themselves and rise to the occasion is what makes this journey so rewarding.

The medals are great, but the character built along the way lasts a lifetime.

COMPNET Tournament Recap 🥋🏆

Today, 23 of our students stepped onto the competition mats and represented our team with courage, determination, and heart.

Our team had an incredible performance, bringing home 16 medals total:
🥇 9 Gold Medals (including Professor Mike)
🥈 6 Silver Medals
🥉 1 Bronze Medal

Beyond the individual performances, our team achieved some amazing results:
🏆 1st Place Overall Female Team
🏆 1st Place Overall Adults & Masters Team

But medals and trophies only tell part of the story.

Every single competitor showed true warrior spirit by stepping outside their comfort zone, testing themselves, and giving it their all. Competition isn’t just about winning—it’s about growth, resilience, and the courage to challenge yourself.

We are incredibly proud of all 23 competitors who stepped onto the mats today. Win or lose, each of you represented our academy with honor, humility, and heart.

Huge turnout for our Parents & Kids class and the energy was 🔥

Nothing better than seeing families on the mats together—learning, laughing, and sharing moments they won’t forget. The room was full of smiles, great vibes, and a whole lot of fun.

These are the kind of days that remind us what this is all about. Thank you to everyone who came out and made it so special 🙏

Not a goodbye… just a “see you later.”

Last night we got to share one final training session with Duane and Gabi before their next chapter begins. Duane is finishing his time with the Marine Corps and heading out of state and it’s hard to see them go.

Duane, thank you for your service and for the energy you brought to the mats every single day. Your goofy, fun personality kept the room light, made people laugh, and reminded all of us to enjoy the grind. Gabi, thank you for the support, positivity, and all the great moments you’ve shared with this team.

You are both a huge part of our GB Murrieta family. The mats will not feel quite the same without you—but just know, you will always have a home here.

We will miss you. We are proud of you. And we will see you again soon. ❤️🥋
