We were honored to have Dr. John Locke from United Medical Doctors for a special lecture with our Fundamentals students. His real-world insights and clinical expertise brought the classroom to life and gave our students a deeper understanding of patient care in practice.

Our students learn how the cervix dilates and how contractions help move the baby during labor, using a balloon and ping pong ball to simulate the process. It’s a simple but powerful way to understand the mechanics behind one of the most important moments in patient care.

Today, our students stepped into a hospital scenario—taking on roles as patients, caregivers, and family members. From simulating injuries to practicing communication and care, they experienced firsthand what it takes to work as a team in common situations.

👓🧤 Students are learning empathy and understanding of how physical and sensory changes can impact daily functioning in individuals living with dementia through the Virtual Dementia Tour.
Students are tasked with activities while experiencing sensory and physical barriers.
Simulated experiences helps students understand these barriers which supports more patient-centered care, including environmental modifications, clear communication, pacing, and the use of adaptive strategies.
