St. James High School Sharkies Dance Team

Interested in trying out for the Sharkies Dance Team? Attend the meeting on April 1st to see what the St James Varsity Dance team is all about! Open to all rising 7-12 graders

You won’t want to miss Dancing with the Sharkies THIS THURSDAY (Nov 14) at 6pm in the SJHS Auditorium. Come watch your favorite faculty/staff compete with their dance members for a chance to win the MIRROR BALL trophy!

Admission is $5 and tickets can be purchased online or at the door.

Bring some extra $$$ to VOTE for your favorite…winner takes home the “PEOPLE’S CHOICE” trophy

All proceeds are greatly appreciated and benefit the Sharkies Dance Team as we prepare to go to NDA Nationals in February 2025 �

Help my team, the St. James High School Sharkies Dance Team, raise money to get to NDA Nationals for the 3rd time in program history!

Our first year in 2022 we placed 7th in the Medium Varsity Game Day Division. Last year, 2023, we placed 9th place in that same category. We are looking to reach the TOP 5 this year!

We will also be competing in the Small Varsity Kick Division...something we have been SO excited about since August!

We leave March 6th and ANY amount helps. Comment if you'd like to donate to a program that I've been so passionate about since I started coaching in 2016.

We competed in our first competition of the season at Clover High School on Saturday. Came home with 1st place in both Game Day and Kick categories! So proud of what we left on the floor and excited to keep working 💙

NDA Camp RECAP:

We traveled to UNC Wilmington for NDA Camp Thursday-Saturday. This is the first time both teams have attended the same camp and it was such a pleasure to see them all grow individually, as a team, and as a program. We came home with a wealth of knowledge, leadership skills, amazing dance routines, and memories that will last forever.

JV accomplishments:
⭐️Superior Rating
⭐️Silver (2nd) in the Int/Adv Team Performance
⭐️Leaps and Bounds Award (voted on by staff)
⭐️All-American Nominees: Hannah, Irie, Jocelyn, Harper
⭐️Irie made the All-American Team
⭐️Multiple Individual Ribbons
⭐️Spirit Stick all 3 days
⭐️Maliyah got the Pin-It-Foward award for being positive and uplifting to her team and others

Varsity accomplishments:

⭐️The St. James High School Dance Program was awarded the “NDA Team Award.” This award is “the epitome of the all around superior team in the areas of leadership, teamwork, performance, and positive attitudes.” It’s such an honor to be thought of in this way and we are forever grateful for this camp 🤍
